All day in Salamanca, Spain. The upstream of limit on the Douro River ends just as we cross the border from Portugal into Spain.

First stop is the market.
Lots of fresh meat
Seafood too!
Lots of pork

The Plaza Mayor is a major hub of activity. Cafes and shops surround the square. It was built from 1729-1755.

Lots of seating for a a great place to have a coffee or a wine and watch people.
The town is considered a living museum. Beautiful and clean streets lined with shops and eateries. University of Salamanca is in the city and is one of the oldest universities in Europe. It was founded in 1218.
A nice view of the Romanesque Cathedral Nueva(new cathedral). Built between1500 and 1700.
This the old cathedral that is connected to the new cathedral. It was built between 1100 and 1200.
Then it was back on the boat and heading back downstream, destination Porto.
