Another fun 8 hour excursion

Our first stop was a winery that specializes in moscatel. It is a very inexpensive sweet wine, not a favorite of mine. However, an informative entertaining tour guide.

She was an out going entertaining employee!
Greg and I sampled the Moscatel! Like I said, not my favorite. It was very sweet and wine at 9am seems a little early.
Then it was off to a local bakery , baking the old way! This is called 4 corner bread or Trigo de Quatro Cantos. The shape of this bread dates back to Roman times.
Then it was off to Quinta das Carvalhas, a 160 year old wine estate. The estate is famous for being the cradle of Moscatel de Favaios wine. This is where we had a very nice lunch .
Tasted as good as it looked!
As I said earlier, Greg and I went on this excursion. Marianne and Patty stayed on the boat enjoying peace and quiet and Coke zeros on the upper deck. All 4 of us had a good day!
