Did you go really high in the air over water or land? You guys amaze me!
We went up to 2500 feet. It was up and down for 45 minutes. Both low and high had their pluses. He used altitude to steer the balloon, as the wind direction varies with altitude. The pilot was from Ireland and has been flying balloons all over the world. The last few years he spends winter in Bagan, Myanmar and summer in Africa.
We landed on a sand bar in the Irrawaddy River. Then the chase team picked us and the balloons up with boats. The Irrawaddy river is about as wide as the Columbia river but very shallow now because it’s the dry season, no rain since November.
